Level 1

* Minimum requirement

* Recommended for a chimney under continued service, under the same conditions, and with the continued use of the same appliance

We will examine all readily accessible areas. We will verify the chimney is free of obstructions and combustible deposits.

Level 2

* Required when any changes are made to the system

* Required upon the sale or transfer of a property

* Required after an operation malfunction or external event that is likely to have caused damage

We will include all things covered in a Level 1, as well as a video scan. We will inspect accessible portions of the chimney exterior and interior, including attics, crawl spaces, and basements.

Level 3

* Recommended when a Level 1 or Level 2 suggest a hidden or serious hazard and the evaluation cannot be performed without special tools to access concealed areas of the chimney or flue

We will include all things covered in Level 1 and Level 2, as well as the removal of certain components of the building or chimney where necessary in order to gain access to areas that are the subject of the inspection.

Rotary Sweeping 

* Recommended if the creosote is crusty or fractures when hit

We will use the 24" Death Star (DSW24) whip head to remove dangerous soot and creosote buildup. This tool is replacing the manual brush method for clay tile flues.

Video Inspection 

SW Top Hat Chimney Service also offers video footage inspections. This allows us to see inside your chimney system to find any deposits or bricks in need of repair. High quality footage allows us to quickly inspect your chimney and find any issues right away.
